Introduction.
This so-called extended policy has been drafted for the website www.cookingsurface.it (herein after “Site”) pursuant to Provision No. 229 of 8.5.2014 signed by the Italian Data Protection Authority (entitled “Identification of simplified procedures for information and the acquisition of consent for use of cookies”), then clarified with the Circular of 4.9.2014 signed by the same Data Protection Authority (entitled “Internet: Data Protection Authority, no to profiling cookies without consent”).
This policy is, therefore, aimed at providing users browsing the Site with detailed information about the type of cookies and their use on the Site.

Definition and types of cookies.
Cookies are small text strings which the site visited by the user sends to the latter’s terminal (usually the browser), where they are stored to then be transmitted to the same website during the user’s next visit.
The types of cookies used on the Site are the following:

I. Technical cookies: which are only used to “carry out the transmission of a communication on an electronic communications network, or insofar as this is strictly necessary to the provider of an information society service that has been explicitly requested by the contracting party or user to provide said service” (see art. 122 paragraph 1 of the amended Italy Leg. Decree No. 196/2003): in detail, these types of markers can, in turn, be further subdivided into the following micro categories: a) navigation or session cookies, which guarantee normal browsing and use of the website (e.g. they allow you to make a purchase or log in to access a restricted area); b) analytics cookies, which are similar to “technical” cookies, when used directly by the website manager to collect information in aggregate form on the number of users and on their ways of surfing the website; c) functional cookies, which enable users to surf the website based on a set of selected criteria (e.g. the language and products) in order to improve the service provided.

II. Profiling cookies: which are aimed to creating user profiles and used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown by the user when browsing the internet (so-called behavioural advertising).

III. Third-party cookies: which are installed on a specific website by a party other than the webmaster of the site in question: e.g. presence of “social plugins” (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+) aimed at sharing content on social networks; the presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties; please refer to the relevant policy to find out how information collected by third parties is governed.
